Welcome to Handled With Care!
As I sit here, reflecting on the steps that have led me here to the penultimate day of my website launch, three things are close to mind:
- It takes a tribe to thrive – I am blessed to have an incredible group of ‘nearest and dearest’ that encourage, participate in and advocate for me to learn and stretch. This website would not be where it is today if it wasn’t for a few fabulous people who I love dearly. Thank you.
- Fear and excitement – the physiological triggers for stress and excitement are, at the basic level, neurologically the same. It’s the emotional perspective placed on the stressor that makes it either “exciting” or “stressful”. At a guess, I’m 75% excited, 25% stressed!
- And this is my story – I have had an (almost) lifelong interest in biological sciences (plant, animal & microbe) and this point in life feels like the beginning of another chapter towards what really ‘spins my wheels’. I am a passionate advocate for supporting our health, naturally first. There is absolutely a time and place for modern medicine, however in most cases, I see models of care managing the symptoms manifested instead of treating the underlying causes or imbalances. Let’s not see an approach as ‘modern versus alternative’ medicine, but complementary.
Before I sign-off, gratitude must be given to my two favourite people in my world – Gavin and Mason. Thank you for your encouragement, check-ins and giggles. My life is richer for having both of you in my life.
I look forward to this platform becoming synonymous with sharing, learning and celebrating.
See you tomorrow at 3:09pm to launch the website, live via Facebook.
Life, love and laughter.
